Laurie Anderson

titles as e-books!

Henry Miller is one of the great American writers.
As a prophet, poet and philosopher he is among the voices that defines America.
He has been neglected by the academic establishment because of the association of his writing with liberated sexuality.
It is vitally important that the people who understand and love his
work create
an archive dedicated
to his achievements.

The Henry Miller Library
in Big Sur
is that archive.

First artist in residence at NASA, the superstar techno-diva of international performance art, Laurie Anderson,
touched down among the redwoods!
Tuesday, July 26, 2005 @ 8 PM

This was a benefit performance by Ms. Anderson especially for the Henry Miller Library -
under the stars, surrounded by the towering redwoods - a memorable night.

Special thanks to Pipa Piñon and Daniel Lewis of "DreamBeach" who opened
the evening with a set of beautiful music.

David Dildine of Big Sur Coast Foods brought some snacks and drinks .

After the concert a late night dinner was served at the
Big Sur Bakery.

We should not stop to
reflect, compare,
analyze, possess,
but flow on
and through,
endlessly,
like music.

--Henry Miller

"We are all guilty
of crime
the great crime
of not living life
to the full.

But we are all
potentially free.

We can stop thinking
of what we have
failed to do and
do whatever lies
within our power.

What those powers
that are in us
may be no one
has truly
dared to imagine.

That they are infinite
we will realize
the day we admit
to ourselves that
imagination is
everything.

Imagination is the
voice of daring."

--Henry Miller
